I source my own wood from the local area always looking for wood that has a story. Recent acquisition is some sweet chestnut burr from a tree by Carnasserie castle. This tree was cut down, without the landowners permission, and l was able to salvage some.
I also have just started recovery of an elm tree that fell due to rot earlier this year. There is not much elm left in the UK after dutch elm disease, however mid Argyll is one of the areas it still survives. and there are some lovely specimen trees.

The main focus of my work at present is natural edge bowls and vases however l keep exploring new ideas and revisiting old ones.
